ABOUT ME

I was born with Cerebral Palsy and at the age of 6 began skiing with the Children’s Hospital Handicapped Sports Program. After I graduated from high school, I started ski racing the next winter with the Fort Lewis College Ski Team. After that season, I moved to Winter Park and put my studies on hold to pursue ski racing. It paid off and I made the U.S. Adaptive Ski Team for the 2001-2002 season. I began the year as a member of the National Team but finished the year as a member of the 2002 Paralympic Team for the Paralympic Games in Salt Lake City, Utah!

After 2002 I had to take the following year off, but the next season, I skied hard and again qualified for the U.S. Ski Team. I remained on the National Team and in 2006 I participated in my 2nd Paralympic Games in Torino, Italy. After Italy I continued to train but ran into some bumps in the road. I never gave up, worked hard, came back and went to my 3rd Paralympic Winter Games in 2010 in Vancouver, Canada! I had to make the difficult decision to retire from ski racing after 2010.

I’m now working towards my first summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2016 in Paracanoe also known as Sprint or Flat-water kayaking.
